I make instruments for enthusiasts, advancing students and professional musicians. My models are influenced by the outstanding work of the Italian master violin makers of the 17th and 18th century.
Instruments can be seen and played by appointment at my location in Oshawa, just east of Toronto, Canada. Trials may be arranged on request.
The gallery below provides some examples of my work. Please inquire about current availability.
Made in 2018, the violin has a two-piece top made from fine grain Italian spruce. The two piece back is made from quarter-cut Bosnian maple with medium flames descending from the center joint. The ribs and scroll are also of attractive medium flamed Bosnian maple.
The violin has been finished in a red-brown oil varnish over a cinnamon gold ground. A minimal amount of wear and patina has been applied to enhance the beauty of the instrument.
